Steam capsule resizer.
Drop in one piece of key art, click where the focal point is, and download every Steam store and library capsule at the exact pixel size Steamworks asks for: header, small, main, vertical, page background, library capsule and library hero.
Short answer: Steam wants a 920 × 430 header, 462 × 174 small, 1232 × 706 main and 748 × 896 vertical capsule, plus a 600 × 900 library capsule and a 3840 × 1240 library hero. This page crops all of them from one image, around a focal point you pick.
Click the art to set the focal point: every crop keeps it as close to the center as it can.
- Waiting for an image.
Worked example
Start from a 3840 × 2160 key art (16:9) with the logo in the middle. The header capsule (920 × 430, about 2.14:1) keeps the full width and loses about 17% of the height. The vertical capsule (748 × 896) keeps the full height and only about 47% of the width, so it needs your focal point: click the logo and it stays in frame. The library hero (3840 × 1240) uses every source pixel across and a 1240 px band of the height, with no upscaling. Click a focal point near the top of the art and the hero band moves up with it.
How it works
- Crop to fill. Each size is scaled so the art covers the whole frame, then cropped around your focal point. Nothing is stretched and no bars are added.
- Exact sizes, from Steamworks. These are the sizes on Valve's Store Graphical Assets and Library Assets pages. Steam's uploader checks dimensions, so a pixel off is a rejected upload.
- Upscaling warning. If your source is smaller than a size, that size is upscaled and will look soft. The checks list which ones.
- What a resize can't do. Capsules work when the game's name is readable at small sizes; on the small capsule Steam also shows it at 120 × 45. For those, a crop of your key art is a starting point, and the logo usually needs to be placed by hand.
| Asset | Pixels | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Header capsuleStore | 920 × 430 | Top of your store page, and the Library header unless you upload one. |
| Small capsuleStore | 462 × 174 | Search results and lists. Steam makes 120x45 and 184x69 from it, so keep the logo big. |
| Main capsuleStore | 1232 × 706 | Front page carousel. |
| Vertical capsuleStore | 748 × 896 | Front page during seasonal sales. |
| Page backgroundStore, optional | 1438 × 810 | Steam makes one from your last screenshot if you skip it. |
| Library capsuleLibrary | 600 × 900 | The Steam Library grid. |
| Library heroLibrary | 3840 × 1240 | Behind your game in the Library. Steam says no text on it. |
Also on Steamworks: at least 5 screenshots, 1920 × 1080 minimum at 16:9, and the Library logo at 1280 px wide and/or 720 px tall as a transparent PNG.
