Release window (crate downloads)
Short answerOur term: the day a crate version is published plus the next day. Downloads in that window are inflated by mirrors, scanners, docs builders and CI pipelines fetching the new version.
Why it matters
Splitting release windows from quiet days is how we turn a raw crates.io count into a steadier number (the quiet-day baseline).
Our number
Among the top crates that shipped in our window, the median one got 3% of its downloads inside release windows. Every crate page shows its own split.
