RUSTSEC-2021-0086: `Read` on uninitialized buffer may cause UB ( `read_entry()` )
Short answerflumedb has an API that can cause undefined behaviour from safe code: `Read` on uninitialized buffer may cause UB ( `read_entry()` ). Fixed in 0.1.6.

What to do
- See which version you have:
cargo tree -i flumedb(it also shows which of your dependencies pulls it in). - Update within your version requirement:
cargo update -p flumedb. If the fix is a newer major or minor than your requirement allows, raise it in Cargo.toml (for exampleflumedb = "0.1.6") or update the dependency that pulls it in. - Check again with
cargo audit, or paste your Cargo.lock into our Cargo.toml checker.
Details from the advisory
Affected versions of this crate passes an uninitialized buffer to a user-provided Read implementation. There are two of such cases (go_offset_log::read_entry() & offset_log::read_entry()).
Arbitrary Read implementations can read from the uninitialized buffer (memory exposure) and also can return incorrect number of bytes written to the buffer. Reading from uninitialized memory produces undefined values that can quickly invoke undefined behavior.
