clippy::unicode_not_nfc: Checks for string literals that contain Unicode in a form that is not equal to its NFC-recomposition
What it meansChecks for string literals that contain Unicode in a form that is not equal to its NFC-recomposition. It is in the pedantic group and off by default.
Does it matter?
If such a string is compared to another, the results may be surprising.
Stricter lints with some false positives. Off by default; opt in with clippy::pedantic.
How to fix it
Clippy can fix this one for you: run cargo clippy --fix (add --allow-dirty if you have uncommitted changes). Review the diff before you commit.
Turn it off, or on
It is off by default. To use it, set it to warn or deny:
Whole crate (Cargo.toml)
[lints.clippy]
unicode_not_nfc = "warn"In code
#![warn(clippy::unicode_not_nfc)]One run
cargo clippy -- -W clippy::unicode-not-nfcThe [lints] table needs Rust 1.74 or newer. In a workspace, put it under [workspace.lints.clippy] and add [lints] workspace = true to each member.

What it does
Checks for string literals that contain Unicode in a form that is not equal to its NFC-recomposition.
Why is this bad?
If such a string is compared to another, the results may be surprising.
Example
You may not see it, but “à”“ and “à”“ aren’t the same string. The
former when escaped is actually "a\u{300}" while the latter is "\u{e0}".
From the Clippy lint list (0.1.99), part of the Rust project, MIT or Apache-2.0. Official entry.
