clippy::unusual_byte_groupings: Warns if hexadecimal or binary literals are not grouped by nibble or byte
What it meansWarns if hexadecimal or binary literals are not grouped by nibble or byte. It is in the style group and warns by default.
Does it matter?
Negatively impacts readability.
Code that works but is not idiomatic Rust. Warns by default.
How to fix it
Clippy does not fix this one automatically (its suggestion may change behaviour, so it only shows it). Change the code by hand:
Flagged
let x: u32 = 0xFFF_FFF;
let y: u8 = 0b01_011_101;
Turn it off, or on
Allow it where it does not fit your code, as narrowly as you can:
On one item
#[allow(clippy::unusual_byte_groupings)]
fn my_function() { /* ... */ }Whole crate (Cargo.toml)
[lints.clippy]
unusual_byte_groupings = "allow"One run
cargo clippy -- -A clippy::unusual-byte-groupingsThe [lints] table needs Rust 1.74 or newer. In a workspace, put it under [workspace.lints.clippy] and add [lints] workspace = true to each member.
