Cargo.toml
Short answerCargo.toml is a Rust package's manifest: name, version, edition, rust-version, dependencies and features, written in TOML.
Why it matters
Most crate metadata you see on crates.io (license, MSRV, edition, repository) comes from this file at publish time.
Our number
Our free TOML to JSON converter reads a Cargo.toml in the browser, and the JSON to Rust tool writes the serde structs for the other direction.
