A 401 with a key that worked yesterday is usually the token: App Store Connect API tokens expire after at most 20 minutes, and a skewed clock breaks them. Paste one into our JWT decoder to see its expiry.
What to do while App Store Connect is down
When App Store Connect is down, uploads, build processing, TestFlight or the App Store Connect API may fail or stall. Apple reports each one separately; see the components list below.
Upload failing
Wait for "App Store Connect - App Upload" to clear on Apple's page, then retry; re-uploading the same build number fails, so bump it if Apple says the first upload never arrived.
Build stuck in Processing
Processing normally takes minutes. When it takes hours and Apple lists an "App Processing" issue, waiting is the only fix.
Set up the API key once
Uploading from CI or Windows needs an API key, not a password.
