What to do while docs.rs is down

When docs.rs is down, hosted Rust documentation is unavailable. You can build the same docs locally from your own dependency tree in a minute.

1. Build the docs locally

   cargo doc renders docs for your crate and every dependency, at the exact versions in your Cargo.lock.

   cargo doc --open
   # just one dependency:
   cargo doc -p serde --open

2. Standard library docs, offline

   The rust-docs component ships with the default toolchain profile.

   rustup doc --std

3. Read the source

   Every downloaded crate's source is on disk under ~/.cargo/registry/src/, doc comments included.
