Money size calculator.
Type any amount and see what it looks like in cash: a pile of $100 or $1 bills drawn to scale next to a 1.8 m person, with the weight, the volume, how tall the stack is, how many pallets, and what it would fill.
Short answer: one US bill weighs about 1 gram and is 6.14 x 2.61 x 0.0043 inches. So $1 million in $100 bills weighs 10 kg and fits in a briefcase, $1 billion weighs 10 metric tons and fits in a 20-foot shipping container, and $1 trillion weighs 10,000 metric tons, about 4.5 Olympic pools.

How it works
- One bill. 6.14 x 2.61 inches (U.S. Currency Education Program) and 0.0043 inches thick (Bureau of Engraving and Printing): about 1.13 cm³. It weighs about 1 gram whatever the denomination (BEP).
- Your pile. Amount divided by the bill, times those numbers. A $100 pile of $1 million is a cube 22.4 cm on a side; the side grows with the cube root, so 1,000 times the money is only 10 times wider.
- The picture. A port of the money room in O'BLOCK: each cube is a power of ten in cash ($10,000 and up in hundreds), picked so there are at most about 700 cubes, drawn in an oblique view with a 1.8 m person for scale. When the person gets too small to see, a YOU marker points at them.
- Pallets. A standard 48 x 40 inch pallet stacked about 0.91 m high holds a million bills: $100 million in hundreds.
- Comparisons. Briefcase about 15 litres; carry-on 22 x 14 x 9 in; car trunk 15 cu ft; 20-foot container about 33.2 m³; 40-foot about 67.7 m³; a 2,000 sq ft house with 8 ft ceilings; an Olympic pool 50 x 25 x 2 m; the Empire State Building 37 million cu ft.

Questions
How much does a million dollars weigh?
In $100 bills, 10 kg (22 lb): 10,000 bills at about 1 gram each (Bureau of Engraving and Printing). In $1 bills it is 1,000 kg, one metric ton.
How much space does a billion dollars take up?
In $100 bills, 11.3 m³ (399 cu ft), a cube 2.2 m on each side, and it weighs 10 metric tons (11 US tons). It fits in one 20-foot shipping container.
How tall is a trillion dollars in $100 bills?
Stacked in one column, 1,092 km: ten billion bills at 0.0043 inches each. That is higher than the International Space Station orbits (about 400 km), 2.73 times over. In $1 bills the column would be 109,220 km.
Is this the same for every bill?
Yes for size and weight: every US note in circulation is 6.14 x 2.61 inches and about 1 gram. Only the count changes, so the same amount in $20 bills is 5 times the $100 pile, and in $1 bills 100 times.
